Where It Matters Most?

Last week I asked you to think about which clients and projects are the most profitable—not just in revenue, but in ease of execution, repeat business, and referrals. That’s the kind of work you want to focus on winning.

The first step is to quit promoting low-profit busy work and start asking for lucrative and rewarding work. An easy place to start is your Google Business Profile. Search engines only know what you tell them. If your profile isn’t showcasing what you have to offer your ideal customer, you are missing important opportunities.

Here are some quick ways to upgrade your authority on your Google Profile:

✅ Update your profile – add fresh content with details that set you apart.
✅ Gather examples of your best work – get pictures, testimonials.
✅ Use the Q&A section to highlight expertise – people need solutions, not technical details. Focus on what you can help them accomplish.

Think of your Google profile as a sales page for your business. When someone searches for services, what they see in those first few seconds determines whether they reach out—or move on to someone else.

Your profile needs to showcase the profitable kind of work you want to win and what you want to be known for. And remember, Google gives priority to profiles that are active and complete. If yours is not, you are leaving money on the table.

This week, take 15 minutes and Google your company from an incognito window. Review what comes up in the column on the right. Consider how it addresses the kind of business you want to win. Then add or polish the services pictured in the products section.

Know what you want and ask for it. You may be surprised how the universe responds.

You’ve got this!
