Last week, we talked about how social media isn’t about showing off—it’s about showing up for people. The strongest relationships are built through consistent engagement. While it sounds simple, steady relationship building is hard for me. I’m too busy with other things.
It turns out, it’s more important than I ever realized. When I think back through the people who have made a difference in my business, they didn’t just pop in once. They checked in, helped out, and were there for me when it mattered.
That’s why I started the Marketing Monday emails. It allows me to make offering regular support a part of my routine. Routines then allow me to:
✅ Check in regularly and with purpose.
✅ Set reminders to follow up on important things.
✅ Have information available when clients need it.
The goal isn’t to spend hours online—it’s to pay attention and be intentional. A steady presence builds trust, and trust leads to opportunities.
I started with LinkedIn posts, that allowed me to move into writing a weekly email. Then I was then able to collect these messages on a resources tab on the website. Now the Illinois Business Journal is sharing what they think are my best messages.

This week, I would like to encourage you to commit to a simple habit and see where it leads you. A weekly block of time to email or post, a monthly onboarding or exit call, or a quarterly strategy meeting.
The simplest action often spark the strongest connections.
You’ve got this!
