Summer is short–make your expertise count

Hey there, hope you had a wonderful weekend. To get you back into July marketing, we’re going to focus on finding some easy ways to help clients experience your value this month. I call them “service samplers.”

These are smaller engagements—like workshops, audits, or inspections—that give prospects a clear win to build trust and confidence. This week, let’s talk about one of the simplest and most effective options: the workshop or webinar.

Why host a workshop or offer a focused audit?

When someone joins a workshop or calls you in for an audit, they’re not just learning—they’re learning from you. That short burst of interaction is often enough to turn a stranger into a client. They feel like they know you.

Pick a specific challenge your ideal client faces and help them get one step closer to solving the problem. Think:

  • “Quick fixes for reducing downtime”

  • “Planning tips for expansion”

  • “Inspections that protect assets”

  • “Tastings for summer entertaining” (samplers can be literal!)

Here’s how to turn it into business:

  1. Make the workshop easy to join. Whether online or in person, don’t overcharge or over complicate the process.

  2. Solve a specific problem and give them something visible to take away like a handout, checklist, or printout of results.

  3. Explain simple next steps and end your session with what you can do to help.

This is not salesy, just resources to keep going (starter packages, a consult, service sign up page, etc). If you’ve delivered good information on a problem they have been struggling with, they will not mind information on what to do the next time they are struggling.

Quick Start Planning Checklist:

✅ Pick one small, urgent problem to solve (I have a worksheet that might help)
✅ Prepare one page of talking points or things to inspect
✅ Set a date 4-5 weeks out
✅ Write an invitation and publicity plan.
