A professional online presence isn’t just about words—it’s also how prospects see you. Potential clients may never read your bio, but they will notice your social graphics, photos, and videos. If your visuals don’t demonstrate quality, you will lose opportunities.
This week, schedule an appointment to have a professional headshot with good lighting. When you go, be sure they get at least one good shot on a solid background very different from your hair color and clothing. That way we can replace the background if needed.
Get some casual shots as well as formal ones. It’s important to be yourself, authenticity is good for social media. Sloppy is not. You are well on your way to becoming a leader in your industry. You want to earn trust and show well for your connections. Their friends might be interested in hiring you.
Other good upgrades include:
• Better project photos – Make it a habit to take before, during, and after screenshots or photos of every job.
• Stronger branding: Make sure your profile banners and featured images are bright and attractive.
• Simple videos: A 10-second walkthrough or update on a recent project adds credibility and attracts more viewers.
Think of your online presence as a storefront. People are more likely to want to do business with you if they like what they see in the window.
You’ve got this!
