Get Ready Before the Heat Hits

There’s one mistake I see business leaders make over and over — it is waiting too long to prepare marketing materials.

Instead, think of it like packing the cooler before you head to the boat or beach. If you are prepared, you can relax and enjoy the waves while the sales roll in.

I get it, I do it myself when things get busy. We just expect email content, news releases and website pages to be there when we need them. Sadly, that’s not how it works in real life. AI makes it faster, but it all still has to be done.

Good materials take time. They need thoughtful writing and careful editing. They need good photos that are cropped and work right with the design. They rely on strong visuals—photos that are sized and placed correctly, recent testimonials, clear calls to action, even a good script or outline for client conversations.

You don’t need to do it all at once. I don’t want you to get hung up on perfection. Just choose one thing you can offer clients this summer and DO SOMETHING to get the word out.

Each time you communicate, it gets easier. Each month we work together, you’ll have more tools at hand.

  • Taking before or after photos of a project?

  • Ordering a fact sheet, press release, or proposal template?

  • Putting together a PowerPoint, leave behind, or video?

  • Getting a new head shot? 

Waiting until the last minute makes your company look sloppy. Your message may not land the way you need it to. Instead, set yourself up to sail through sales by taking action this week.
